Programme Management Awareness

This one day workshop will introduce delegates to the principles of programme management, including the lifecycle and typical processes and challenges. It can be used as an general introduction to Programme Management or be used as a start-up event for a new programme team to help them consider how they will work together, what processes they will use and establish a consistent approach. The workshop can be tailored to emphasise particular processes to meet local need e.g. benefits management or stakeholder engagement.

Who should attend?

Programme managers, aspiring programme managers, project managers and members of programme boards or steering groups.

Workshop Format

Attendees learn from each other within a supportive risk free environment, with our experienced facilitator providing tools, techniques, hints and tips and sharing valuable “I’ve been there” war stories.

A key element will be a discussion of how programme methods can be adapted to different types and scale of programmes. In the absence of a tailored company method we will use the Managing Successful Programmes (MSP™) approach.

Workshop Objectives

  • By the end of the one-day event delegates will have developed a deeper understanding of the programme lifecycle and the roles and processes necessary for successful delivery
  • During the event, attendees will develop the ability to identify key stakeholders that have an impact on their programme and be able to develop practical strategies to enable them to manage stakeholders more effectively.
  • Bring clarity to programme governance through an awareness of different programme organisation structures and typical roles / responsibilities.
  • Through exercises, delegates will have the opportunity to develop “tools and techniques” at the appropriate point in a lifecycle in order to ensure the correct controls are in place to achieve benefits.
